Call it making a silk purse out of a sow's ear, or turning nothing into something, or just a nutty recycling project...

I've always been intrerested in the alchemy of transforming ordinary, throw-away stuff into beautiful, exceptional stuff. In that spririt, Restart Jewelry is made of the one of the commonest materials...cans. Each piece is constructed of fragments of recycled cans embedded in resin and combined with silver findings and vintage and new beads. I feel I am part of the folk art tradition that inspired past artisans to make scrap quilts of of work shirts, rugs from rags, and beads out of bone.
